Ever Wonder How A Simple Pen drive Could Do Fancy Things Like A Boot up Device Or To Try a New Operating System !! Recently I Ran into A Trouble Using Pen drive which made me to Write this Post. After a week Release of Google's Chrome Os i thought of Giving a Shot !! I Used Win32 Image disk Writer to Write the Image onto Disk . Everything went Well But my Surprisingly My Pen drive "Size" Has Been reduced From 4 GB to 1.91 GB. I Was Freaked Out Gave A Quick Search On Internet And Found This Solution . This May be useful in Your Case to Repair Or Recover Unallocated Space From USB Flash Drive.
All You Need A Simple Tool called "Lexar tool".This Wonderful Wizard Makes USB Fresh As Before.
Follow This Steps
1.Download the Lexar tool and extract to your PC

2. On Windows 7, remember to right click and “Run as Admin”.
2. Select your thumb drive letter, and click on the ‘Non-Active’ radio button at the bottom of the window
3. Now click on the ‘Format’ button
4. Remove and insert back of your Flash drive
5. Go back to disc management and reformat the flash drive again and you will get the whole space again.

How long can a USB Flash drive sustain running an operating system?
ReplyDeleteI recently installed Linux Mint on a USB drive. Its mostly for personal use (browsing, messaging, music).
Assuming I boot off my USB drive everyday and spend 4 hours a day on it, how long wil the flash USB drive become unreadable?
