European Commission to investigate Google

Google Had a Tough time this year after been Hardly effected by facebook,a popular social Networknig site overtaking its Regmie and  a Serious issue in Europe recently, with the StreetView row – in which the search giant was found to have been collecting unsecured Wi-Fi data – coming to a head in many major countries in the region and Even  Indian government issued a legal notice on search engine gaint Google for wrongly depicting the Indian map on its website. Its not new For Google To face this Alleglations .

And now Google is in Trouble Again as European Commission has launched an investigation into Google after other search engines complained that the firm had abused its dominant position.
 As we all know that
Google,The webgaint which changed the Face of The world in finding info  is the hugely dominant search engine in Europe as well as whole World, but allegations have been made that it has used this dominance to push other search engines down in its rankings.
The complaints have not been made by competitors like Microsoft 's bing or Yahoo, but by French legal search engine ejustice.fr and price- comparison British site Foundem.

Google provides two types of results when users search its site for information.
The first are unpaid search results, often referred to as algorithmic results, and the second are third-party ads and sponsored links appearing at the top and right of the results page.

The Commission said it will investigate whether Google lowered the ranking of unpaid search results of competing services -- such as price-comparison sites, also known as vertical-search services -- and gave preferential placement to the results of its own such services.

Investigators will also look into allegations that Google lowered the "quality score" for sponsored links of competing vertical search services. The quality score is one of the factors determining the price advertisers must pay to Google.

The quality score also influences the likelihood of an ad being displayed by Google and its ranking. If two advertisers are using the same key words, the one with a lower quality score will have to pay a higher price to rank at the same place.
The Commission will also look at whether Google imposes exclusivity obligations on advertising partners -- preventing them from placing certain types of competing ads on their own websites and on computer and software vendors' sites, with the aim of shutting out competing search tools.
The probe will last as long as it takes to complete the investigation, the Commission said.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1) Movie Review

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Genre:
Fantasy/Drama
Director: David Yates

StoryLine:
In this seventh and final installment of the beloved Harry Potter series, Harry faces new troubles; he must collect all of the Horcruxes that the evil Lord Voldemort has left behind. He has no idea where these are and he has to destroy them all, even without the faintest idea how to do so.[Rotten Tommatoes]

 My Comments:
Harry Pooter undoubtedly the most anticipated adaptation of Recent years And The Recent Release Proves it  again .
David yates' Harry Potter delivers the Goods but Is'nt A stand alone movie.I was Waiting for this instalments over a year.It was brtave Attempt but was not well executed .I had lot of Expectations On this movie but some how The cilmax made me to satisfy ..The movie had so many characters apart from the ground characters. It will be completely confusion for anyone who are coming for the first time.I Requires a nearly Encyclopedic recall of the previous installments Characters.I suggest To roll back pages and give a glance on how characters are Related, and when and where abouts of Characters.

Part I  is many parts thrilling and Worth to watch , as there are quite a number of intense action sequences. Many of them, of course, are done with well-rendered visual effects. However, the action sequences are perfectly blended in with the gripping, dramatic moments. They don't feel heavy handed and it's beautiful to look at. The animated sequence about the origins of the Deathly Hallows is an absolute masterclass and delightfully to watch and listen,I just in love with that animation scene.

What Makes me  more interesting is the human emotion and interaction between the three friends including a not-in-the-book scene, in which Harry and Hermione dance together, even as death surrounds them.

Well coming to cast Daniel Redcliffe is back As harry ,but he is now Matured ,he can take his own decissions, and Emma As Hermione Granger she was just amazing, its Good to see them  grow from cute kids into appealing teens on the brink of adulthood.

the movie was Briliantly Picturised by cinematographer Eduardo Serra, the movie sets ,chase sequences the magic Every thing gives you the Orignial Fragrence as it is depicted in the book.
Main problem is that there's a long stretch in the middle of the film.I Feel a little draggy and boring in the middle, which I think it is necessary to explain more details of the movie. Movie Length is 146 min Which is normal in Harry potter Previous Parts.
Atlast i was Sastisfied For the part 1 As i did for Half blood Prince it showcased the prepartion of final Battle!Waiting for the 2, whereby Lord Voldemort found the greatest wand. Overall  i feel Refreshed by the movie i Had Good Time .Thanks to my firend Who invited Me for movie..:)

Antimatter created, captured for the first time

Scientists working at the CERN announced they have Created And Captured Anti Matter For the First time , which could offer new insights into the universe.
They were able to preserve the antimatter atoms for one-tenth of a second.

Scientists working on the big bang machine in Geneva have done the seemingly impossible: create, capture and release antimatter.

The development could help researchers devise laboratory experiments to learn more about this strange substance, which mostly disappeared from the universe shortly after the Big Bang around 14 billion years ago.

Right from the day when Antimatter was first predicted in 1931 by the British physicist Paul Dirac, who theorized that antimatter is ordinary matter in reverse. It was Huge subject For science fiction movies like Startrek Series and To  Dan Brown 's Angels and Demons .

And now it was No longer a fantasy in science fiction movies as physcits made this possible .I'm a Guy who relates Everything In Life whether its science or sports to Movies,so Whenever i Think of Antimatter The First thing which comes in Mind Is the movie " Angels And Demons" in which a secret society hides an antimatter bomb beneath St Peter’s Basilica in Rome.If you have seen Angels and Demons then you would understand why am i saying .Its Not only a Mystrey Thriller film following symbols but for the First time it Made me to Realise The concept of Antimatter.Movie Presented An Excellent Demonstration of How Antimatter is Created ,what Results May end up if we play with Antimatter.

So What is AntiMatter

Antimatter is ordinary matter in reverse. Atoms normally consist of positively charged nuclei and negatively charged orbiting electrons. Their antimatter counterparts have negatively charged nuclei and positively charged electrons. For example, a positron (the antiparticle of the electron) and an antiproton can form an antihydrogen atom in the same way that an electron and a proton form a normal matter hydrogen atom. Furthermore, mixing matter and antimatter can lead to the annihilation of both in the same way that mixing antiparticles and particles does, thus giving rise to high-energy photons (gamma rays) or other particle–antiparticle pairs. This Energy can Be used for productive purposes rather than Destructive way.
A single pound of antimatter would contain more destructive power than the largest H-bomb.
Previous Experiments

In 2002 scientists at CERN produced antihydrogen atoms in large quantities, but they had an incredibly short lifespan -- just several milliseconds -- because the antihydrogen came into contact with the walls of their containers and the two annihilated each other.

In this latest experiment the lifespan of the antihydrogen atoms was extended by using magnetic fields to trap them and thus prevent them from coming into contact with matter just like vials seen in Angels and Demons but of huge size.

The researchers created 38 antihydrogen atoms and held on to them for about a tenth of a second, which is long enough to study them says Professor Jeffrey Hangst, one of the team of CERN scientists who worked on the program.

NASA's Chandra Finds Youngest Nearby Black Hole

Astronomers using NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory  have found evidence of the youngest black hole known to exist in our cosmic neighborhood. The 30-year-old black hole provides a unique opportunity to watch this type of object develop from infancy.

The black hole could help scientists better understand how massive stars explode, which ones leave behind black holes or neutron stars, and the number of black holes in our galaxy and others.

Generally Blackholes will be described in terms of Billions of years sounds crazy but this blackhole Is Just Formed 30 years ago making itself the youngest blackhole Ever found in the history of Astronmomy.

The 30-year-old object is a remnant of SN 1979C, a supernova in the galaxy M100 approximately 50 million light years from Earth. Data from Chandra, NASA's Swift satellite, the European Space Agency's XMM-Newton and the German ROSAT observatory revealed a bright source of X-rays that has remained steady during observation from 1995 to 2007. This suggests the object is a black hole being fed either by material falling into it from the supernova or a binary companion.

The scientists think SN 1979C, first discovered by an amateur astronomer in 1979, formed when a star about 20 times more massive than the sun collapsed. Many new black holes in the distant universe previously have been detected in the form of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs).

This new black hole Proves adding more power to the long standng theory that black holes are created by the collapse of large stars and the belief that they continue to be fed by residue from the explosion.
This new  discovery may give scientists new possibilites to know:

*How Black holes Are Formed??

*Under What Cirucmstances star Dies

*And Why a dying Star will sometimes create either a neutron star or a black hole.

"This may be the first time the common way of making a black hole has been observed," said co-author Abraham Loeb, also of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. "However, it is very difficult to detect this type of black hole birth because decades of X-ray observations are needed to make the case."

The idea of a black hole with an observed age of only about 30 years is consistent with recent theoretical work. In 2005, a theory was presented that the bright optical light of this supernova was powered by a jet from a black hole that was unable to penetrate the hydrogen envelope of the star to form a GRB. The results seen in the observations of SN 1979C fit this theory very well.

Although the evidence points to a newly formed black hole in SN 1979C, another intriguing possibility is that a young, rapidly spinning neutron star with a powerful wind of high energy particles
could be responsible for the X-ray emission.

This would make the object in SN 1979C the youngest and brightest example of such a "pulsar wind nebula" and the youngest known neutron star. The Crab pulsar, the best-known example of a bright pulsar wind nebula, is about 950 years old.

"It's very rewarding to see how the commitment of some of the most advanced telescopes in space, like Chandra, can help complete the story," said Jon Morse, head of the Astrophysics
Division at NASA's Science Mission Directorate.

The results will appear in the New Astronomy journal in a paper by Patnaude, Loeb, and Christine Jones of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., manages the Chandra program for the agency's Science Mission Directorate in Washington. The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory controls Chandra's science and flight operations from Cambridge.

CERN's Large Hadron Collider recreates 'mini Big Bang'

The Large Hadron Collider world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerator which is Expected to answer address some of the most fundamental questions of physics, advancing humanity's understanding of the deepest laws of nature has created its very own mini Big Bang after smashing together lead ions instead of protons.
It was thrilling moment for the Scientists waiting all over the world.
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the giant machine probing the nature of matter near Geneva, Switzerland created mini versions of the “Big Bang” which gave birth to the universe almost 14 billion years.
*The scientists working at the enormous machine achieved the unique conditions on 7 November.
*The experiment created temperatures a million times hotter than at the centre of the Sun.
About LHC

* LHC is housed in a 27km-long circular tunnel under the French-Swiss border near Geneva.
*THeLHC is smashing together particles in a bid to unlock the secrets of formation of our Universe
*It is operated by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (Cern) in Geneva

*The giant tunnel is located an average of 100m underground
*The LHC is the world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerator
*The circumference of the LHC is 26 659 m, with a total of 9300 magnets inside
*The magnets are cooled to an operating temperature of -271.3°C (1.9 K) - colder than deep space
Large Hadron Collider: A Guide
*The $8 billion machine had previously been colliding protons -- sub-atomic particles -- in the search for the Higgs boson or "God particle," thought to give matter its mass,Proton collisions could help spot the elusive Higgs boson particle and signs of new physical laws, such as a framework called supersymmetry..

These experiments were shut down last  5th november, to allow the LHC to run with lead ions instead -- atoms from which an electron has been removed -- to study different aspects of physics.
A computer simulation of the first lead ion collision in the Large Hadron Collider, a simulation of the events immediately after the Big Bang.(Image Via Fox news)
The lead ion collisions will allow the LHC to create a superheated mixture of subatomic particles called quark-gluon plasma, which pervaded the universe immediately after the Big Bang. One of the accelerator’s four detectors, called ALICE (A Lead Ion Collider Experiment), will examine this substance for clues to the early universe.
How Lead ions collide
* The lead-ion beams start with a piece of pure lead just under an inch long (2cms)that weighs 500 milligrams (0.017 oz). It is heated to about 500 degrees celsius to vapourize a small number of atoms.
* An electrical current is used to remove a few of the electrons from each atom, and then the newly created ions are slowly accelerated around the LHC until they are electron free.
* When they reach 1.38 teraelectronvolts they are brought into collision in the centre of three detectors which record the debris from the impacts
.*ultra-sophisticated detectors around the LHC record how particles behave after being smashed together, transmitting the data for analysis to laboratories at CERN and in other research centers around the globe.

Invisibility cloak closer with flexible 'metamaterial'

Scientists in the UK have demonstrated a flexible film that represents a big step towards the “invisibility cloak” made famous by Acclaimed Socio-Fantasy series Harrypotter.
Scientists are Close to Relaising the scientific fantasies As we see Regularly in science Fiction movies, the may be close In near future the Flying cars,Warp effects of Star trek,3d Holograms Of Starwars can be Reality.

As cloaks  designed  to shield objects from Tera Hertz and Near Infrared waves have already been designed by phyicsts at St. Andrews Universityin Scottland, they have develpoed the Metamaterial which can create  independent flexible material that could theoretically appear invisible to naked eye ideal for use in a wide range of applications including the Invisibility cloak. It manipulates The Behaviour of Light. But these Materials only affected light of a colour far beyond the human eye’s ability to discern.

The tiny structures in the newly Created film bond together to create a meta-material which causes objects to become invisible by bending light around them.

The New York Journal of Physics has reported the demonstration and physicists worldwide have declared the approach a giant step forward in light-bending technology. They haven’t, so far, commented on the social implications of an invisibility cloak.

Meta-materials work by blocking and channelling beams of light at a fundamental level, bouncing light waves in prescribed directions in order to achieve a planned result. The laws of optics work in such a way that light can only be manipulated by structures around the same size as the light-waves’ lengths.

Until the recent demonstration, the most striking former demonstrations of invisibility have used light waves with a longer wavelength which the human eye cannot detect. The reason for this is that it is far easier to construct these materials with larger structures.

The shorter light waves that the human eye can discern require nanostructures, which stretch the boundaries of present-day manufacturing techniques to the limit. The author of the paper presented at the demonstration, St Andrew’s University’s Andrea di Falco, said that the most important step in the process was believing that it could be done.

Dr di Falco used a thin polymer film to fabricate a single layer instead of the previously-used brittle silicon and proved that the film had the properties to construct a 3D flexible meta-material. The physicist Ortwin Hess, holder of the Leverhulme Chair in meta-materials, has welcomed the work as ‘a huge step forward in many ways’. He told reporters that it’s not yet an invisibility cloak but it’s the right way forward.
