ISRO builds India's fastest supercomputer

ISRO,Indian space research organisation has build a Supercomputer Named SAGA-220 which will be the India's Fastest Super Computer with an ultimate Performance of 220 Tera FLOPS I.e 220 trillion floating point Operations Per Second. SAGA, an acronym for Supercomputer for Aerospace with GPU Architecture, as its name suggests imbibes the Graphic Processing Unit (GPU).

It Was built at the Satish Dhawan Supercomputing Facility at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC).SAGA Super Computer Was Built with a Budget of 14 Crores.

The Super Computer was Completely Designed By VSSC With Open Source Software Components. And The Components used include 400 NVIDIA Tesla 2070 GPUs and 400 Intel Quad Core Xeon CPUs manufactured by Wipro. Each of these 2070 GPUs and 400 CPUs would expectantly 500 GigaFLOPS and 50 GigaFLOPS, respectively.

What Makes Interesting and Makes Special With This Super Computer Is the Fact It is Completely Envirnomentally Green And USe Less Power 150 kw Unlike other Super Computers Around The World .

SAGA Would be used in Astronomical calculations And Solving Complex Aero space problems,Analysing The Astronomical Data Etc.
