Converting a Fat 16 Partition to NFTS

Before learning how to convert,lets first have a clear idea on fat and nfts
FAT is a primary file system in the most of pcs.Fat stands for file allocation table.
FAT is used in dos or in few windows based pcs.it is of 2 types FAt16 and FAT32
FAT file systems are commonly found on floppy disks, flash memory cards, digital cameras, and many other portable devices because of their relative simplicity.
NTFS stands for NT file system ,it is s the standard file system of Windows NT, including its later versions Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.Ntfs supports compression of files,ntfs has recoverable file system .

CONVERTING A FAT16 INTO NFTS
select start-->run-->command(cmd)
or start-->programs -->accessories-->commnad prompt.
in the commnad prompt type a commnad
CONVERT [driveletter]: /FS:NTFS
ex: CONVERT D: /fs:ntfs
now the conversion is complete.
note: keep a backup of drive,in case you can restore if the data is corrupted or lost during conversion.
