Naming the days of the week

The names of the seven days are based on the seven heavenly bodies the Sun,Moon,Mars,Jupiter,Venus,Saturn,Mercury.
The ancient babylonians and the Romans named the days of the weeks after planets ,gods and other celestial bodies they saw in the sky.


Monday :
moon's day named after the Moon,the satellite of earth.


Tuesday:
Named after the roman god of war Mars,Mercurius.
also known as The Warrior Tiu or Tiw in scandinavian mythology
Wednesday:
woden's day the roman god mercury 
Thursday :
 Thor's day the Roman god Jupiter 
Thor was the Thunder God.




 Friday :


Friday was named after a Godesses Freyia or Frigga the goddess of love





Saturday:

Saturday was named after the Saturn



Sunday:

sunday was ofcourse the heavnly body sun
