How to create shortcut in Mac OS X

We create a shortcut on desktop to access easily an application or a program.In windows it is easy to make a shortcut  just by right clicking on your empty space of desktop you would find a option "create desktop shortcut".
In apple shortcut  is different, a bit complex too but this post will teach you how to make a desktop shortcut for beginners.
Follow this steps
     *Launch your Finder, look for the program that you want to create shortcut for.
    *Highlight the program by clicking once on the file
    *Control + Click on the file (or Right click on the file), and select “Make Alias”
    *Once the shortcut is  being created, you may drag that shortcut  to desktop or to anywhere you wish
    Done.

In Macintosh Shortcut may also referred as Alias.
